Nhena Nyagura is the Chief Executive Officer of Dandemutande Investments. He previously served as the Head of Business of both iWayAfrica Zimbabwe and Africa Online, two leading Internet Service Providers in Zimbabwe. Prior to assuming leadership of iWayAfrica Zimbabwe in January 2010, Nhena was responsible for establishing the Internet Business Unit at Africom and additionally served as Africom’s Chief Operations Officer for the period 2007 to 2009. Prior to that Nhena was a founding member and the Chief Technical Officer of AcademicOne, an Internet based live tutoring service based in Potomac Falls, Virgini, USA . Between 1998 and 2007 Nhena was employed by Level 3 Communications, the world’s largest Internet and Infrastructure Company that also happens to be the world’s best funded startup having raised US$13 Billion to develop global Internet infrastructure in 1998. At Level 3 Nhena held various responsibilities in various capacities ranging from Core Services Architecture and Engineering, Technical Operations Management and finally Carrier Solution Architecture, a role in which he led a team that was responsible for developing carrier solutions for organisations such as Verizon, America Online, Cable and Wireless, Teleglobe, Intelsat, Hughes Networks and Cogent amongst many others with an annual sales target of US$1.4 Billion. Nhena had the privilege of Chairing Level 3’s Data Centre Operations Technical Advisory Committee that had the responsibility for controlling and developing enhancements for Level 3’s global data centre portfolio present on four continents with 3 Million Square Feet of colocation space at the time.
