Green Innovation Fair

The Green Innovation Fair was designed to allow entrepreneurs working towards curbing carbon emissions to showcase their products and stand a chance to win US$1,000 towards their projects. The concept was formulated in collaboration with Impact Hub Harare and UNDP Zimbabwe and supported by the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Water, Climate and Rural Resettlement.

Programme Background

In partnership with UNDP and the Ministry of Environment, Water and Climate Action, Impact Hub Harare held a 2-day Green Innovation Fair focused on exhibiting such projects culminating in a pitch competition for an ultimate prize of US$1,000 and incubation at Impact Hub Harare.

Applications for the Green Innovation Fair opened on the 29th of October and closed on the 8th of November. Applicants had to describe their organisation and their impact on the 3 P’s (People, Plant and Profit).  

The judges were selected based on their experience in the innovation and climate action space and included Ethel Bangwayo from UNDP, Henrica Makula from Cassava Smartech, Charity Mbirimi from Higherlife Foundation and Hope Muchanyuka from Impact Hub Harare.
