Global Entrepreneurship Competition comes to Zimbabwe
Impact Hub Harare is proud to be bringing the global SeedStars Competition to Zimbabwe. This is the most prestigious start-up competition to spot entrepreneurs with ideas which will shape the future. SeedStarsWorld is a global organisation working in more than 65 countries around the world.
Its mission is to impact people’s lives in emerging markets through entrepreneurship and technology. The company’s goal is to develop and foster start-up ecosystems by connecting, building and investing in driven entrepreneurs.
From October 28 – 30, 2016 up to 12 of Zimbabwe’s best start-ups will compete for the grand prize. The winning team will represent Zimbabwe at the SeedStars Summit in Zurich, Switzerland and have the chance to receive up to USD 1.5 million in equity investment prizes.
The SeedStars Bootcamp and Pitch event will be the biggest public accelerator program run by Impact Hub Harare. The event will begin with an intense two day bootcamp designed to generate solutions to the unique pain points our local entrepreneurs are experiencing. During the bootcamp participants will also receive training and mentorship on key business issues from top local and international gurus who are leaders in their respective areas of expertise. On the third day, October 30, the pitching event will take place in front of a seven-member jury where the top three entrepreneurs will be selected. The overall winner will proceed to Zurich for the global pitch in 2017.
Entrepreneurs who have what it takes should submit their applications through Impact Hub Harare website (www.impacthubharare.net) as well as through the website of the local event management company Detailz Events (www.detailzevents.co.zw).
