Karma is a Pitch
At Impact Hub Harare, we aim to “inspire, connect and enable”. However, in an attempt to achieve these objectives, we simultaneously became recipients of our own proverbial medicine.
Someone call a doctor because we are overdosing on endorphins from watching the talent that we have within our nation. We are considering suing the winning start-ups for giving us the warmest and fuzziest feelings.
Today, at the training boot camp for the top 10 finalists pitching on Sunday for the inaugural Harare Seed Stars event, we were ourselves inspired, connected and enabled.
With each innovator who pitched and received feedback from our fabulous mentors we realised the symbiotic relationship between the pitcher (not of water, but of a special kind of awesome) and the audience. What they gave with regard to energy, sass and innovation, they received million fold in feedback, admiration and encouragement, leading me to conclude: Karma is a pitch!
We were inspired by the genius in the room disguised in the simple human bodies of unassuming innovators who are anything but simple. These change makers moonlight as regular people and hide their wizardry beneath silent smiles and old t-shirts—guess what, we are no longer fooled.
Our quest is to out you, to expose you to the world for who you really are—magicians who live by a code (pun definitely intended). They hide behind screens and inside computers, and some of them speak in binary so that we don’t understand just how awesome they are. Well no more! Sunday they shall be exposed. Come!
